Before you print
- Print it at least 0.8 inch (2 cm) square. Bigger is better for yard signs and flyers. A good rule: the QR should be about one tenth of the distance people will scan from.
- Test scan before you print. Open your phone's camera, point it at the preview, and make sure your card pops up with the right name, numbers, and email. Try a second phone if you can.
- Keep it dark on light. Black or a deep color on white scans best. Leave the white border around the code; scanners need it.
- Use PNG for print shops and Canva, SVG for designers. SVG stays sharp at any size.
Static vs. dynamic QR codes
This is a static QR code. Your contact details are stored inside the pattern itself. It works forever, with no account, no subscription, and no company in the middle tracking scans.
Dynamic QR codes (from many "free" QR sites) point to a short link the company controls. They can be edited later, but they often stop working when a trial ends or a subscription lapses, which leaves dead codes on printed signs.
The trade-off: if your phone number or brokerage changes, make a new static code. It takes a minute.
